About Me

Professional Background
I have worked as a designer my entire professional career. I started my first job as a web designer in my last year of high school. I had a brief stint in architecture (which my degree is in). The rest of my career has been focused on creating software brands and products.
I have a background in product and visual design, specifically designing for complex and technical tools. I have designed with small to large UX teams and companies. Currently, I am leading a team of designers at CircleCI (a developer tool). The majority of my career has been spent working on B2B, developer, and enterprise products.
Design Philosophy
While I default to bringing simplicity from complexity, sometimes things warrant complexity - like airplane cockpits and dev tools. I believe that design is a craft, and that good design is a result of good craftsmanship. The craftsmanship comes from the design process, not just the solution.

Additional
I’ve been coding for 20+ years and love building—software, furniture, sheds, and more. Most of my career has focused on B2B, developer, and enterprise products, with a strong bias for pragmatic, craft‑driven outcomes.
